LAN/WAN Systems Engineer - Jackson, MS

TEC is seeking a dependable, and highly motivated, individual to serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex issues. This individual will be asked to review, plan, and evaluate network systems. Providing documentation/project tracking and management reporting, as well as tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects are also required.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Coordinate/assist the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network communications, data & VoIP network infrastructures.
  • Participate in the monitoring & operation of Wide and Local Area Networks.
  • Ability to maintain logs, charts, diagrams, testing data and configuration documentation when troubleshooting.
  • Perform diagnostic and analysis procedures in troubleshooting and repair of network outages.
  • Provide Tier3 network support and training to peers.

Skill Set/Certifications Desired:
  • Working knowledge of Linux administration
  • Executable scripting and web programming skills,
    including PHP & MySQL
  • Wired network cabling and wireless network knowledge
  • Cisco IOS, MikroTik RouterOS, ADTRAN AOS
    knowledge, or equivalent
  • Technical support experience
  • Experience with network test and monitoring tools,
    i.e. Solarwinds, WireShark, iperf, or equivalent
  • Advanced familiarity with OSI model and LAN and WAN
    networking, i.e., OSPF, BGP, MPLS
  • Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills
  • At least 3-years industry experience or B.A./B.S. in
    computer/networking fields
  • CCNA/CCNP or equivalent
