Paris, Tennessee (May 28, 2025) – TEC and the Paris Board of Public Utilities (Paris BPU) are proud to announce the official groundbreaking of a transformative fiber infrastructure project that will bring next-generation internet speeds and utility modernization to the Greater Paris Municipal area. This joint initiative will cover approximately 480 miles and deliver multi-gigabit fiber internet to nearly 10,000 homes and businesses across Henry County.
This milestone marks a major step forward in expanding access to high-speed, reliable, fiberoptic broadband in West Tennessee, an area where residents have long expressed frustration with buffering, slow speeds, and limited provider options. The new network not only supports next-generation broadband but also enables critical utility grid enhancements, allowing for smarter monitoring and control of electric, water, and wastewater systems. Together, these advancements will deliver more resilient utility services and help close the digital divide.
“Breaking ground in Paris is more than just launching a project — it’s investing in the future of this community,” said Scott Pell, Vice President of Operations of TEC. “We’re proud to partner with Paris BPU to bring fiber internet to the people and businesses who call this place home.”
With TEC’s Fast Fiber Internet, residents in the Paris area will soon have access to the fastest speeds available—up to 2 Gig. Designed for seamless streaming, remote work, and smart home connectivity, these symmetrical speed tiers provide unmatched performance at competitive prices: Buy a Gig, get another for $10!
