West Tennessee (June 6, 2024) – TEC, a leading rural broadband provider, announces the completion of a three-phase construction project, funded under a grant contract with Tennessee. The first phase was completed in Benton County with the ability to connect over 550 homes and businesses. Next, the second phase was completed in Henry County, extending broadband coverage to nearly 300 locations. Most recently, the third phase of construction was completed in Carroll County, providing access to nearly 450 more locations. This significant milestone extends Gigabit-speed internet coverage by approximately 105 miles, providing connectivity for nearly 1,300 residential and business customers.
TEC’s goal is to bridge the digital divide by providing a reliable, high-speed internet option that positively impacts the communities it serves. With Fast Fiber Internet from TEC, residents can take advantage of convenient work-from-home opportunities, digital learning, appointments with physicians via telemedicine, and video streaming services.
“Henry County is proud to have partnered with TEC to provide rural broadband opportunities to the southern part of the county,” said John Penn Ridgeway, Henry County Mayor. “The completion of this project brings far-reaching benefits for both educational and business services in the Henry and Mansfield areas of Henry County.”
"For over a century, fostering greater connection among communities has been our mission at TEC," said Joey Garner, CEO of TEC. "We are thrilled to see the completion of this project, which marks a significant step forward for the businesses and residents in these counties. This expanded network will continue to support local growth and innovation."
