Tuscumbia, AL (April 11, 2025) - TEC has completed the first phase of its Fast Fiber Internet expansion in Colbert County, bringing enhanced connectivity to residents and local businesses. This project spans approximately 26 miles, introducing faster, more reliable internet service to the area.

This Company has strong ties in our community, providing service in the region since 1968 as National Telephone of Alabama. In 1972, National Telephone of Alabama became a fully integrated part of the TEC family of communication Companies serving southeastern parts of America. Since then, TEC has continuously evolved to meet the communication needs of local families and businesses. Today, TEC is focused on expanding high-speed internet access, ensuring that residents of Colbert County remain connected in our increasingly digital world.

By utilizing advanced fiber-optic technology, the new network delivers symmetrical internet speeds up to 40 times faster than traditional copper connections, supporting essential online activities such as remote work, virtual learning, telemedicine, and entertainment.

“For decades, our Company has been committed to serving this region with reliable communication services," said Joey F. Garner, CEO of TEC. "Expanding our fiber network in Colbert County is a continuation of that mission—bringing future-ready internet to the community and supporting local businesses and families.”
