JACKSON, Miss. (September 28, 2026) – More than 2,400 homes and businesses throughout Lawrence County now have access to TEC's Fast Fiber Internet following the completion of a major broadband infrastructure project spanning more than 107 miles of fiber network.
The project expands access to high-speed internet across the county, providing residents and businesses with the connectivity needed to support remote work, online education, telehealth, streaming entertainment, smart home technologies, and other everyday online activities.
"Access to reliable broadband is no longer a luxury, it's a necessity," said Scott Pell, President of TEC. "We're proud to complete this project and bring more Lawrence County families, businesses, and community organizations access to the fast, dependable internet services they need to thrive in today's digital world."
Fiber internet delivers ultra-fast speeds, low latency, and greater reliability than traditional internet technologies. The network is designed to support increasing bandwidth demands while providing customers with a future-ready connection capable of powering multiple devices and applications simultaneously.
The completed expansion represents another step forward in TEC's ongoing efforts to bring advanced communications infrastructure to rural communities. By increasing broadband availability, the project helps create opportunities for economic development, education, healthcare access, and long-term community growth throughout Lawrence County.
